For those of you who don't know, Brian is a connoisseur of lasagna. He has tried many different lasagnas and made many different versions in search of the perfect lasagna. He finally nailed down the recipe he thinks tastes best, and he makes it every chance he gets. I have to admit, it is pretty darn good!
So, Brian and I were in the process of making dinner for some friends of ours that recently had a baby. You can guess what we made....that's right, Lasagna. Brian made the lasagna and I made dessert. Luckily Brian bought enough ingredients to make 2 big lasagnas which meant we got to keep one! Woohoo for my taste buds, but not so much for my waistline.
So, this long story is leading to Johanna getting to eat lasagna for only the second (maybe third) time in her life. She is a leading food critic and the anxious chef awaited her review.
Here's what happened-
She delicately took a bite
She then spent time thinking about the variety of tastes and textures
She then went for another bite
She took her time chewing
A piece and a half later, the results were in.......
Two Thumbs Up! Way to go daddy!

It's been awhile...
So, sorry it's been so long since I have updated. Things have been a little crazy between student teaching and the rest of my life. I have been so busy that I have forgotten to DVR LOST the last two weeks and had to watch it online! I will not make that mistake again!
Things in the Miller household are going well. I only have six weeks of student teaching left. I can't believe I'm finally graduating! I am in the process of looking for a job which has been really stressful and time consuming. I am praying that the Lord provides something close. I really don't think it would be fair to my family for me to have to drive an hour away or more. My first responsibilities are being a wife and a mommy. So, I just need to keep trusting that the Lord will provide something. Patience never has been my strong suit!
Brian is doing well. He is really enjoying his job. He is getting to fly a little more often lately and has several flying students. He loves his little girl sooooo much. I really enjoy getting to see them play together.
So, now to the person you all really want to hear about! Johanna is doing really well. We had a rough couple of weeks. She ran a high fever which turned out to be the result of a virus which led to sores all over her lips and throat. It was horrible. I felt so bad for her. She just cried all the time. Those of you who know Johanna know how out of character that is for her. The doctor prescribed some pain reliever with codeine. We got through it, and then I got a sinus infection. I got on antibiotics pretty quickly, so it wasn't too horrible. I would take me being sick everyday of the week over Johanna being sick. I just felt so bad for her.
Johanna has been a full-time walker for awhile now. I can't believe how big she is getting! She is quite the talker and can say quite a few words. Her favorites are "hi, bye, dog, duck, bear, book, bath, cookie, snack, and cracker." Of course, some of those are probably only distinguishable by close family! She LOVES to read books and can follow simple directions. She hunted for eggs and was able to find eggs (hidden in plain sight) and put them in her basket. It was so cute! She loves when Brian and I are both home and we are able to play all together. She is showing more and more personality and can, at time, sport quite the attitude. Sometimes it just makes us want to laugh. I can see me in her when she thinks that she can do something she shouldn't just as long as she smiles and tries to look cute. We are going to have our hands full when she is a teenager!
She surprises me everyday. She brings so much love and joy to our household!
I will post a few pics, none of which will include Easter because I haven't gotten those uploaded to the computer yet.
Check out the hair clip that you can almost see!
Isn't it supposed to be March?
Bath time fun! Check out those baby blues!
Singing and playing- all in a days work.
Who knew that plastic hippos were so good!
That's all folks...for now!
